GKW provided two on-site field inspectors for the 4.5-mile reconstruction and widening of FM 1957 (Potranco Rd) from SH 211 to Loop 1604 in Bexar County Precinct 1 — a $46.3M project on the fast-growing west side of San Antonio. GKW oversaw daily contractor operations, third-party materials testing, and document control. Scope included widening from two lanes to a five-lane section with new grading, drainage, curb and sidewalk, Warm Mix Asphalt pavement, signing, pavement markings, and traffic signalization.
GKW won two consecutive City of San Antonio on-call civil engineering contracts for the Infrastructure Management Program (IMP) and Neighborhood Access Mobility Program (NAMP) — the 2020–2023 contract (8 task orders, completed) and the 2023–present contract (13 task orders to date), which GKW won again when the work was re-competed and open to any firm — serving as Prime Consultant on both. GKW provides design, construction oversight, and field inspection for residential street preservation and rehabilitation. GKW staff act as an extension of City personnel — overseeing pavement contractors, entering daily quantities into the City's PrimeLink system, and delivering cloud-based daily reports (workforce, equipment, weather, photos and video) to City staff within 24 hours. Work includes mill and overlay, base repair, curb and gutter, and pavement preservation such as microsurfacing and slurry seal, plus ADA-compliant sidewalk and ramp construction with SAWS and CPS coordination for water meter and pole relocations. The program supports the City's maintenance of more than 4,100 miles of streets.
