From a dream to a leading engineering firm
GKW Engineering was founded in 2000 when Angel Gonzalez and Bill White decided to turn their lifelong vision into reality — a civil engineering firm built on expertise, integrity, and a genuine commitment to the communities they serve.
From day one, GKW specialized in transportation design, planning, and traffic engineering, leveraging decades of combined experience across Texas infrastructure. The firm's early focus on listening first, building second, set a culture that defines the company to this day.
Over 25 years, GKW has grown into a full-service civil and transportation engineering firm, earning certifications as a minority-owned, veteran-owned, and small business enterprise — and becoming a trusted partner to TxDOT and municipalities across Texas.
Certification Renewal in Progress
GKW Engineering is actively completing the renewal process for all supplier diversity certifications — SBE, MBE, DBE, HUB, and VBE — in response to recent federal and state program restructuring (including changes to TxDOT's DBE program and the Texas HUB program). GKW remains a small business, but we are not currently certified under any of these programs until renewals are complete. Please contact us for the latest certification status on any specific project.

The people behind GKW
GKW Engineering is comprised of dedicated engineering professionals who bring deep Texas experience and a passion for transportation infrastructure to every project.
Angel co-founded GKW in 2000 with a vision for a client-centered engineering firm. A licensed Professional Engineer with over 30 years of Texas transportation experience, he shaped the culture, values, and relationships that define GKW today. His legacy lives on in every project the firm delivers.
Bill brings decades of traffic engineering expertise to GKW, specializing in traffic design, planning, and studies. As co-founder, he has overseen the firm's technical growth from a small startup to a TxDOT-precertified firm operating across Texas.
