VIA Green Line BRT

GKW provided traffic engineering services as a subconsultant to HNTB on VIA Metropolitan Transit's 12-mile, 26-station Green Line Advanced Rapid Transit (BRT) corridor — a $480 million investment linking key activity centers across San Antonio. GKW's scope included traffic and parking studies, intersection layout design with elevations, street typical sections, traffic signal plans, signing and pavement marking plans, illumination design, storm drainage upgrades, cost estimates, and construction sequencing plans. The Green Line corridor is projected to open to service in 2027. Prime: HNTB; GKW served as traffic engineering subconsultant.

FM 1957 (Potranco Rd.) Widening

GKW provided full-time construction inspection services on the $35.3 million reconstruction and widening of FM 1957 (Potranco Road) from SH 211 to Loop 1604 in Bexar County — a 4.5-mile corridor expansion supporting rapid growth in northwest San Antonio. GKW inspectors provided daily field oversight, quantity verification, materials testing coordination, contractor communication, and quality control to ensure compliance with TxDOT construction standards.

US 281 / Loop 1604 Interchange

GKW served as civil engineering subconsultant to the Williams Brothers/Jacobs Engineering design-build team on San Antonio's first major design-build highway project, contracted through the Alamo Regional Mobility Authority. The 8-mile corridor received four new direct connectors, main lane and frontage road upgrades, bike lanes, and two pedestrian bridges over US 281. The project was delivered ahead of schedule. Contract value: $150 million. Completed 2013.
